Thank God for Online and Live Dealer Casinos. It’s still possible to experience the atmosphere, fun and games of a stylised Vegas Casino affordably, and that’s through a Live Dealer Casino.
It’s become clearly apparently with all the recent price rises on the Vegas strip, that Las Vegas has once and for all shifted its business focus. Its moved on from that of a vacation centre for North American families and gamblers that can afford one vacation a year to win a few extra dollars, to that of an exclusive high-roller zone.
Recent Price Rises in Las Vegas
MGM Resorts International became the latest Vegas operator to drastically raise the price of a visit to many of its Las Vegas Strip establishments, raising their resort fees at 10 of their 13 casino hotels recently.
Thankfully, resort fees at some MGM properties including Vdara, Bellagio, and Aria are not being increased.
However, MGM’s mid-range casino hotels, (The MGM Grand, The Mirage, and Mandalay Bay among others), resort fees will go up by USD $2 to USD $37. Properties at the lower end of MGM’s Vegas portfolio (including the Luxor and Excalibur) will see resort fees raised by USD $5 to USD $35. Resort fees at long-time MGM favourite and Strip veteran, Circus Circus are increasing by USD $2 to USD $30.
Caesars Price Rises – Third Year in a Row
Caesars Entertainment also recently increased resort fees at selected Las Vegas Strip properties. Resort fees increased by USD $5 to USD $35 a night at The Ling, Bally’s, Flamingo and Harrah’s. Fees were also raised USD $2 to USD $37 a night at Planet Hollywood, Cromwell and Paris. Meanwhile, the jewel in Caesars’ Las Vegas Crown, Caesars Palace, has also increased resort fees to USD $39.
This marks third consecutive year that Caesars Entertainment has increased their resort fees. Las Vegas Sands has also raised its resort fees at all its Vegas establishments in each of the past two years.
Resort fees can be very misleading as they are usually not quoted in room rates, so its difficult to know what you are paying for and what’s included or not.
Free Parking Now a thing of Vegas’ Past
When the MGM Group began charging for parking in 2016, other casino conglomerates soon jumped onto the paid parking bandwagon. There are now very few places where you can park for free on the Strip, with the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino just off the Strip being one of the last to offer free parking for its clients.
When the last domino of the Great North American driving vacation to Las Vegas in free parking now toppled, it’s become clearly apparent that Vegas has fallen into the gambling hands of high rollers only, so, what’s next?
Where can we experience the thrill of winning on the Strip without the extreme expense?
Play Vegas Style at Home, or On-the-Go – In a Live Dealer Casino
Thanks to faster internet speeds, drastically-improved mobile devices, quicker networking options and even swifter computer systems, Live Dealer Casino games are now a reality for the vast majority of online players. Over the last 2-3 years, Live Dealer Casino games have advanced so much that for many professional gamblers, Live Dealer Roulette, Live Dealer Blackjack and Live Dealer Baccarat are their games of choice in preference to their land-based casino cousins.
In the very recent past, the most significant challenge that faced many online casinos was that they could not possibly offer the same level of social experience and interactions as a land-based casino. The convenience, incredibly fast march of technological progress in mobile smartphones, excellent choice of games and untold quantity of special offers has placed online casinos at the front of players’ minds as the unmatched number one choice for unwinding entertainment and even professional gaming options.
What does a Live Dealer Casino look like?
A Live Dealer Casino game is conducted by a live human dealer running a game off-site via live streaming video link. Online Players still play through a network connection, however, through the actual live video stream of the game.
They place their bets through the software interface, interact with the live casino game evolving in front of them on screen, and are paid out by the human dealer conducting the game off-site. It’s much like playing in a land-based casino. This is precisely why many players are so enthusiastic as a matter of fact, about their favourite Live Dealer Games. All the thrills and spills of Vegas, combined with the comfort of home, or convenience of playing-on-the-go.
The advantages of Live Dealer Casinos for the players include;
- Face-to-face interaction of Live Dealer Casinos.
- Save money on accommodation, parking and travel.
- Live Dealer Casino Players actually play with real, physical cards, or play on a real-life roulette wheel.
- The game flow is simply more realistic than other online casino games.
- Without leaving the comfort of your own lounge chair in your den or playing on the train on your way to or from work, it’s possible to interact with real dealers in real-time with video-streaming technology.
- The next best thing to being in-house with the high-rollers in Vegas, Macau or Monte Carlo!
Usually, you can often chat naturally to the dealer and sometimes even to other players too. As a result, it is a more social alternative to the other online casino games you may have played previously.
